UNIUYO POST-UTME ADMISSION FORM 2020/2021

University of Uyo, Uniuyo cut off mark for admission into the academic institution for the 2020/2021 academic session is being released by the school management just of recent. Candidates that registered for JAMB and selected University of Uyo as their First Choice institution should take note that the Uniuyo Cut Off Mark is crucial to get admitted into this university. Note: It is necessary that all Candidates in search of admission into the University of Uyo, are to know that the UNIUYO cut off mark for the 2020/2021 academic session admission exercise is out on due notice.

Nevertheless, candidates who scored unerringly or above the UNIUYO cut off mark are automatically eligible and qualified to register for the Uniuyo Post UTME screening exercise. While candidates who scored below the cutoff marks are not eligible for UNIUYO Post UTME screening.

Official JAMB Fixed Cut-off Mark:

Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (Jamb) has fixed the University of Uyo cut off mark at 180. This inquires that candidates who scored 180 and above in their JAMB results are qualified to register and participate in the Uniuyo Post UTME screening schedule.

Aspirants interested in the Uniuyo departmental cut off marks should know that due to the high number of students seeking admission into the University of Uyo, the admission processes are competitive and admissions are given to candidates based on their higher jamb scores, and SSCE result.

Documents that is required for uniuyo post UTME:

1. SSCE result slip

2. Uniuyo registration slip.

The next phase of screening is that after the admission lists have been released. Aspirants whose name appears on the list will be invited for another screening. These are the required documents for the admission into the university of uyo.

INTRODUCTION

1.Preparing Your Letter
Grab a piece of paper and make two columns. In the left column write “Requirements” and in the right, “My Skills”. Read the job application carefully and become familiar with the requirements for this job. Next you will compare those to your skills and experiences on your resume.
In the left column write down the requirements and skills needed for the job.
In the right column write down points from your resume that fit those.
Having these points of interest that correlate to the job will help you provide the most important information in your cover letter quickly and effectively.Start your letter by listing your contact information at the top. Use a readable format, layout, and font as you want to make it as easy as possible for your prospective employer to contact you. Before you begin your letter, make sure that you have the proper letterhead.
2.Make sure your document is aligned to the left.Include the current date then, separated by a blank line, add your contact information:

Phone number
Email address,date
Personal website (if you have one)
3.Linked In profile
Include the company’s information. After you include your information, you need to include the name of the employer to whom you are applying for the job, their title, the name of company and address.[1]
By including the contact information of the company to which you are applying, you are showing that you have taken the time to write a specific letter or application to this company, and have done your research to find the hiring manager for the position.
Doing your homework puts you ahead of a majority of applicants who use letters of application which are clearly generic cut and paste letters. This extra step shows you are dedicated.
If you don’t know the name of the hiring manager, search the company’s website to see if you can find him. Go to Linked In, and even search Twitter. If you can’t narrow down a specific name, see if you can find the head of the department to which you are applying. If all else fails and you have no name, it’s ok to address your cover letter to the hiring manager of the department. Example: “[Department] Hiring Manager”.
Address your letter to the person whom you are writing. To begin your letter, you want to be formal and start with a proper address. Don’t address it to “To Whomsoever it May Concern”, as this is informal, generic, and gives the impression that you haven’t researched the company.
If you don’t have the hiring manager’s name, a simple “Dear [Department] Hiring Manager” will do.
Writing Your Letter
Write an engaging first paragraph. Employers read a lot of cover letters, and most of the time a hiring manager will scan them quickly deciding if your letter goes in the trash or the “keep” pile. Don’t bury the lead, treat your application letter like a news article.
Open with a strong, declarative statement that informs your reader that you are excited to be applying for [the position] at [company].
Be short and specific with what attracted you to the job. What is it about the company that you like? Give an example, and don’t be afraid to be a little conversational depending on how casual the company is.
Show the manager that you are not only familiar with the company’s work, but that you are a good fit by writing in a similar tone to the company.
For example: if you are applying to a company that writes news articles, try to embody a tone that is similar to those articles. Are they serious, do they add humor? If it’s a more formal company like a big marketing firm or financial institution, you might want to be more authoritative, but always be polite.
State where you found the position to which you are applying. Before applying, do some research and see if you know anyone at the company. It’s always better to have an in and reference, and don’t be afraid to name drop if you have the employee’s permission.
If you don’t have a contact at the company, still be sure to include where you found the application, such as via a job site, the company’s site, in a newspaper, etc.
Explain why hiring you will benefit the employer. You don’t want to tell them why getting hired will benefit you. There’s a reason this position is open, there’s a problem that needs solving. You’re here to solve it.
Look at your list of accomplishments and experience and find one or two examples that you can speak about. These should highlight why you will be great in the role.
For example, if you see that the position needs someone who can lead a team and handle multiple projects at once, look at your accomplishments to see if you have any experience that solves that need. If you’ve led team members before, briefly speak to how your leadership skills increased productivity across multiple projects.
Anytime that you can provide stats and numbers, do so. When describing why hiring you will benefit the employer, try to use stats like an increase in revenue or a cut down on costs under your leadership.
Briefly summarize your strengths, qualifications, and experience. In your second paragraph, you want to mirror the job qualifications to two or three of your abilities and experiences that show why you’re perfect for the role.
Refer to your CV or resume, and your skills section from your outline for more explanations of your qualifications and skills.
Look for quick anecdotes that highlight how you’ve been able to solve issues that the company you are applying for might have based on the requirements.
Include the most relevant aspects of your career. While more recent accomplishments are a good place to start, you may have done something in the past that fits perfectly to the requirements; don’t be afraid to dig deep.
Paint a picture of yourself that’s not on your resume. A hiring manager can read your CV or resume and see what you have done in your previous jobs. You want to show the hiring manager who the person behind the accomplishments is.
In one or two sentences, express how the company has impacted you personally. If you are applying to your dream job, chances are this company has somehow shaped your life.
Don’t get too sappy, and keep it short. But by showing the human side of yourself with a story, you show that you’re more than just facts on a piece of paper.
CONCLUSION

Finishing Up Your Letter
Briefly summarize why you’re the perfect candidate for the job in one sentence. Ending your letter of application on the right note is a very important part of your letter as it can help you land the interview. [4]
When you explain how you can contribute to the company, remember that you want to put yourself in the shoes of the hiring manager. It’s about how your contributions will help the company, not how the company will help you.
Ask yourself what you would be looking for in a candidate if you were hiring.
Invite the hiring manager to contact you. Inform your reader that you would love the opportunity to speak further about the position and provide your contact info again.
You can conclude your letter by thanking the hiring manager and ending with a statement like I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience .
Don’t just ask the hiring manager to contact you if he feels you are a good fit. Show some confidence (without being cocky) by telling him that you look forward to speaking further.
Sign off. Signing off can seem like an afterthought, or become frustrating if you don’t know what is appropriate. Use Yours sincerely or simply “Best”.
Being too formal can hurt you here as you may come off insincere, or it may not fit the style of the rest of your letter.
By saying something like “Best” or “Best wishes”, you show respect without sounding like you’re writing a love letter.[5] Alternatively, something like “Cheers” may be too informal and can come off as presumptuous.
Write your name underneath. After you sign off, write your full name on the last line, and consider including a signature.
If you have set up a signature on your word processor, you can insert it under your name.
Alternatively, you can print out your letter and sign your name by hand if you wish. Although with this method, you will have to scan your letter back into your computer.
A signature is not always required.

EXPANSE OF EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE:

Students have perfected the various forms of cheating in the examination halls. Some of the methods employed under this practice include bringing foreign materials into the examination halls. These foreign materials include prepared notes and materials written on palms, thighs and textbooks and they also come in with various tricks like ‘hide-and-seek’ and gadgets like micro-chips and magic text all designed to assist them to pass the examination instead of relying on their own abilities.

Other unwholesome developments inside and outside the examination halls bother on stealing of people’s work, converting or misappropriating the scripts of other candidates, substitution of scripts at the end of the examination, tearing answer scripts for the examination papers only to complain later that their scripts are missing.

There is also seeking and receiving help from people by what they call “giraffing” and copying other candidates’ work.

There are others called “towing” and “ECOMOG” which involve candidates arranging with people before hand to assist them in writing examination, seeking and receiving help from other candidates are very common in recent times. There is also collusion between two or more candidates who usually agree before hand to assist each other. Impersonation is also common among students. Under the practice, a student goes to sit for the real candidate in order to pass the examination on behalf of the other candidate. Such examination “contractors” are paid for their service either before or after writing the examination.

Leakages of examination question papers sometimes come through lecturers, faculty officers and examination officers or examination councils.

The resurgence of the problem, which has reached alarming proportion, is due to poverty or inadequate remuneration and students realising this, collect large amounts of money for examination officers so that examination papers could be leaked to them.

Mass cheating is another dimension that examination malpractice has assumed. Nowadays, the whole thing has become more sophisticated with the advent/use of electronic assisted materials. Calculators, palm tops (which are mini-computers) are sent to examination halls unnoticed. Organisers, small-sized compact discs, mobile phones, though not allowed in examination halls are sneaked in because messages could be text to them in the hall.

The problem has defied possible solutions, because most of those who indulge in examination malpractice happen to have rich and influential parents. Parents of such culprits use their influence in the society to get them out of trouble. This is so because the Ghanaian society had become decadent.

Even when they know their children are guilty, they use their positions as powerful people in the society to influence the outcome of investigations into examination malpractice. This, to say the least, is despicable.

DANGERS OF EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE:

The dangers that examination malpractice pose include perpetual condemnation of one’s conscience whereby the carrier of the fake certificate is constantly under the persecution of carrying something that is false. It also leads to professional inefficiency. The carrier knows that he is not entitled to what he is carrying.

This further leads to a problem of unfulfilled dreams because God distastes injustice and, therefore, does not condone something that is wrong.

They also bring shame and embarrassment to their families and relations. Legal sword of justice might fall on them leading to expulsion and cancellation of results.

WAYS TO CONTROL EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE:

Christian groups should campaign against this behavior on and off campus and motivate others to replicate the same so that the message would be spread round that examination malpractice is evil and attracts God’s sanctions.

Genuine conversion would help in stamping out examination malpractice since a saved soul would desist from all forms of unrighteousness.

Moral upbringing of children of Christian parents should be enhanced so that all the children are brought up properly in accordance with God’s standards.

The employers of various institutions must be bold enough to verify and confirm certificates of their prospective employees because experience has shown that some certificates are being forged. Prayers are also required to stamp out these nefarious activities from our country.

Seminars must be organized at various levels to sensitive people on the evils of examination malpractice

One Cell (mobile) number can be used by one candidate The Cell phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the Candidate’s name and will be used in all communications related to his/her 2019 Application/Examination

A Profile Code of 10 characters is received by the candidate on the same telephone number

• To correct a mistake in candidate’s name, send the [CORRECT Surname First-Name Middle-Name] to 55019 as a text message from the same mobile number

2. The ePIN would then be retrieved and delivered on the candidate’s unique number

REGISTRATION PROCESSES AT ACCREDITED CBT CENTERS:

The candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for completion of registration. The name of the candidate as typed by the candidate on his/her phone when registering the profile comes up automatically on the input of the e-PIN by the CBT centre

N/B: Candidate should register at any centre that has been accredited by JAMB. Any candidate who is registered outside approved centres will be identified and disqualified.

PROCEDURE FOR THE EIGHT FOREIGN CENTRES ONLY IS AS FOLLOWS: Registration fee for candidates from the eight foreign countries is $20 or its equivalent in each of the eight countries. Candidates from the eight foreign countries are to download the Application from the Board’s website (www.jamb.gov.ng) complete and submit it with the fee at the eight designated centres as indicated on the website

1. The first step is to validate your email address on the JAMB portal.
2. Fill in your email in the first two spaces provided, then select a question and type a secret answer in the last 2 spaces. The secret question and answer will be required if you forget your password to your profile on the JAMB portal, so ensure you always remember your selected question and the corresponding answer you typed.
3. Then click “Verify Email”. A link will be sent to your email.
4. 4: Open your email and find an email sent from “noreply@JAMB.gov.ng”. The email should be titled “eMail Address Confirmation”.
5. Open the email and click the link that says “Click here to continue your Profile Creation”. If you are unable to click on the link, ensure the email is not in your SPAM/JUNK folder. If it is, move it into your inbox to access the link.
6. PLEASE NOTE: There is also a UNIQUE CODE that was sent to you in that email. Please ensure you do not delete that email or you can copy the unique code to somewhere safe. You will be needing this code when you go to register at the CBT Centre.

STEP 2:
Once you click the link in step one, step 2 provides you with a form to fill in your personal information

1. Fill in all the information as provided by the form. Your surname, first name, middle name, date of birth (day, month & year), your phone number, nationality, state, LGA and Password to your profile.
2. Please ensure you crosscheck all the above information, because if you don’t, it may cost you to change it in future.
3. Once you are sure of all the above information, click on “Sign Up”.
4. That’s all, your profile will be created immediately. You should see a message that says “Your Account Creation Was Successful.”
5. You can click on “Proceed to Login” to access your new profile.

How to create jamb profile using mobile phone via sms

1. Sends his/her Surname, First Name & Middle Name (where applicable). This should be maximum of 38 characters + 2 spaces between names = 40 characters in all to JAMB short code of 55019

PROFILE SELF HELP IN CASE OF MISTAKE / LOSS:

5. Rewrite. An essential part of writing is rewriting,

5. Virginia Woolf

Did you read “Ulysses” in school or while at university?

10. J.D. Salinger

• Eat a well balanced diet and practice other healthy lifestyle habit. Limit caffeine, sugar and alcohol as much as possible. Regular exercise.
• Visualize the success you are about to achieve .always focus on what you are capable of doing and the capacity and ability to handle challenging situations.
• “Proper preparation prevents poor performance”. Prepare what you are presenting in advance and read it aloud to the hearing of the people.
• Ensure and build up connection with your audience, smile and greet people, make them as friends rather than taking them as enemies.
• Stand or sit in a “self assured”, confident posture.
• Remain warm and open, and then make eye contact.
• Never give up and try to be perfect and know your stand that it is normal to make mistakes.
• Speak freely and comfortably.
• Develop and empowering belief and trust in yourself.
